Quite possibly the worst October 5, 2008 Absoulute waste of money, focus is slow to react, the camara takes a picure its that slow at least 2 seconds, pray the subject does want to move for a while, doesnt like quite a few sd cards keeps locking them out the bundled software might be ok couldnt comment at that though refused to except the serial on the box or inside the battery compartment you can always phone them but you wont have any success there either my advice for the money go and by a mini dv camara and a firewire cable and pcmcia card if you dont have one for around the same price your be happier.
You get what you pay for August 2, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked the idea of this camera & liked the price point even more but was disappointed with its performance. If the camera is mounted on a tripod or you have a very, very steady hand - the footage is quite excellent. But the size of this camera is appealing to people who do not want to have to use a tripod (imo). The main flaw I saw in the video quality was a "wobble" in the picture - as if it was being projected onto a sheet of paper which ripples! The sound is average & the battery life was poor. I returned it to Amazon & have decided to buy a more expensive camera.
Don't Buy This July 19, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I can't agree more with the review titled "garbage". What does everyone see in this dreadful American sub standard piece of well yes garbage.
The bad points; The focus is slow, the stills pictures can take up to 2 seconds to take after pressing the button, the playback sound is barely audible at times and sounds like the mic has a pillow over it, there is no anti shake so the the playback (pointlessly in HD) is very jittery, some sd cards lock the camera out and battery removal is the only way of correcting, the battery cover slips off during recording, the zoom is useless, the .mov format seems to be incompatible with all pc software.
The Good points; its small, it comes with a case.
Utter rubbish, wake up, it might only cost 140 but your memories will be unwatchable. I sent mine back for a full refund and I will never forget the old cliche you get what you pay for!

God alone knows what everyone sees in this. Records no better than the movie function on a decent digital camera, and the software with it is problematic as well. Yes, it does convert .mov to Windows, but only to view - you can't save it to .mpg, so you can't edit in any software that comes with a PC. You'll also not be able to see thumbnails of the video, and if you change the file name so that you can remember what the video is the camera won't see it, so you can't play it back via an HD TV (which is surely the point of an HD camcorder). There's a video editor that comes on the CD, but it refuses to accept the Serial Number that's on the box, so I can't even install it! If you're the sort of person who loves faffing around with conversion software in an attempt to get this into a format you can actually use, then you'll have a ball. If you've got a life & you just wanted a camera you could take half decent shots with & view on DVD/PC in no time, avoid this like the plague.
Not a technical but a budget solution for your needs. May 28, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
1. Had some problems using a 8gb sdhc, it jammed and eventually does not recognize this card. No problems using 1gb, 2gb, and 4gb sdhc though.
2. You already know that from the other reviews but mic quality is "considerable". Though, if you ask me, don't ask for EVERYTHING since its the cheapest HD cam you can get. Plus, you can find useful tips on how to fix it yourself in the internet.
3. It is compact and easy to use, you can take it everywhere since it fits in your pocket... and its HD :)
4. ...but ahd-300 is out and it said to be better (fixed mic, 1080 instead of 720) despite similar price
