Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
Anybody whose faith in Lost was beginning to waiver will surely appreciate the fourth season of the show. For this is Lost firing on all cylinders, showing a willingness to answer a few more questions than usual, while not being afraid to deepen elements of the mystery of Ocean 815.

The big new idea for Lost season four, as introduced in the cliffhanger at the end of the previous run, is flash-forwards, where we see some of the characters after they?ve left the island. This freshens the show immensely, and gives the writers some much-needed new meat to chew on. As a result, characters are more convincingly fleshed out, and more fun is had with the narrative in general.

There are still a few of the ailments that have hindered Lost in the past. Whenever Matthew Fox?s Jack takes centre-stage, for instance, it still tends to be an episode to forget, while one or two sub-plots are allowed to meander a little more than they should. Yet it?s a transitionary season, moving the show towards its final two years by beginning to fill in some of the blanks we?ve been lacking. And with a cliffhanger at the end that, once more, has the potential to firmly pull the rug from under your feet, it?s very clear that Lost has plenty more tricks up its sleeve to come. A terrific season of an increasingly bold show. --Simon Brew

4 out of 5 stars Expensive alternative to DVD, is it worth it?   November 5, 2008
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

Maybe, you still get the same decent show. Which is an improvement on series 3 as it has more momentum. Having ditched the flashbacks to be replaced with flash forwards the show actually feels like it is progressing rather than milking our ever shortening attention spans. The body count is noticably higher too.
So why go blu ray? Well as with all blu ray it needs a high def TV to appreciate it. Watching it on a 42" plasma screen that supports 1080p it looks stunning. Lost is a beautifully shot TV shows with excellent production values and it shows on screen. If you also have a decent sound setup then you will notice the sound is similarly excellent. Worth buying if you have the equipment to support it.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing picture and sound   October 23, 2008

This series looks amazing in HD! Every blade of grass and speckle of sand jumps off the screen. You can see every hair on their head and on the men's beards. Every line - every freckle and all the sweat (Ewe!) The picture is five stars all the way and the sound offers dolby 5.1 or uncompressed. The extras are many including Lost in 8.15 (the story so far) and the unseen webisodes (missing scenes) This set contains commentarys, flashbacks, flashforwards and season play that are exclusive to blu-ray! All in all if you're a fan of the show it's a no-brainer!
